i have to tell you about this dream

i know what you're thinking "what?!!! two blogs in one day? ashley must've gone insane!" i know, i know, but i didn't go insane. i just realized that i forgot to tell you guys about this dream i had.

i dreamt that matt (my husband) was kirk cameron. and kirk was very upset with me and wanted a divorce because i did not believe that we were in the end times, and i flat out refused to watch or read anything that had to do with the 'left behind' series.

your thoughts? too many onions on my pizza before bed? or am i'm secretly married to the end-times mafia?

A) Matt = SO not Kirk Cameron (shudder).

B) You're sick of spoon-fed "Christian" culture.

C) Onions.

D) Both A) and C).

E) All of the above.

Hmmm...I'm usually very good a this. It either means that you secretly wish "Growing Pains" was still in syndication (but don't we all?) or that you need to lay off the caffeine before bed. Onions are actually fine.

Is this a true reflection of your real life... do you actually refuse to have anything to do with the "left behind" series? If so you are my soul sister! ha!

I too have avoided the Left Behind series- it does't suit either my escatology nor aesthetic.

It does sound a lot like jeffmacsimus' option "B"- that you are feeling a profound disconnect to the point of a permanent severance with that which you feel is connected to Kirk Cameron/ Left behind, etc.

You don't have to go for the pop version of Christianity to have a genuine faith. Personally I have had to leave behind hanging out in Christian bookstores, listening to all -Christian format radio stations, etc. because it was not a genuine expression of my faith in Christ.

Maybe it's time to step out of the prepackaged world and walk across uncertain waves to better grasp His hand? Just some thoughts.
